• Raspberry Pi model B+ was launched, touted not as Raspberry Pi 2, but the ‘final evolution of the original Raspberry Pi’.
• Google’s general-purpose Dart language (although still not supported by default in Chrome) became an official ECMA standard, making it easier for others to implement.
• Hammer.js 2.0, the small, dependency-free, open-source library that recognizes gestures made by touch, mouse and pointer events has been completely rewritten with reusable gesture recognizers and better support for recent mobile browsers.
• A fascinating look at the story behind aprilzero.com, including sketches, deleted concepts and prototypes explaining the design journey.
• Apple released Xcode 6 beta as a free download, available without the usual requirement of an Apple developer account. You can get stuck right into our new tutorial, An Introduction to Swift.
• Gorgeous shots from the winners of the 2013 Travel Photographer of the Year competition are up, with entries for 2014 now open.
• VSCO are offering a one million dollar scholarship fund to honor art and artist.
