Ian Says Goodbye, and Michael Says Hello (Again)!

The web designers among you will already know that Ian Yates -- who's been the editor of Activetuts+ since it launched as Flashtuts+ way back in March, 2009 -- has moved on to run Webdesigntuts+. He has been fantastic to work with, has done an amazing job, and has left some very large shoes to fill. I'll be taking over; I hope my feet are big enough.

Final Words from Ian

I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone who's participated in the site over the last two years! Throughout what has been a turbulent period for the Flash platform, Activetuts+ has seen brilliant authors and a loyal band of readers succeed in making it the quality tutorial resource that it has become. Being behind the wheel of Activetuts+ has been (to use an Envato coin of phrase) awesome. I've built great working relationships with some seriously talented people, witnessed jaw-dropping developments in the Flash/RIA world and I've especially enjoyed working with Michael, who will undoubtedly put the site on a steady course for growth! I wish you all the very best :)

Introducing Michael James Williams

Hello! I've been the technical editor for Activetuts+ since February 2010, so I'm not exactly new here. I've worked with all of our authors over the past 18 months, and even written a few tutorials of my own. I'm also the editor of another Envato site: Android.AppStorm, an Android news and reviews site.

I always wear a suit. And balloons.

It's been great working with Ian for all this time, and it's a little daunting to think about taking on his old role as well as my own! Wish me luck ;)

New Author Recruitment

I'm always keen to hear from talented authors here at Activetuts+. Our current authors are awesome, but it's always great to work with new people as well. So, if you've got a topic you'd like to write about, this is a great time to apply! I'd particularly like to see more articles and tutorials about browser app and game design, in either Flash or Unity.

Cheers!
